Romeo & Juliet

Romeo & Juliet is the story of two star crossed lovers who have grown up in wealthy families (the Capulets and the Montagues) who hate each other. Romeo and Juliet know that their families  will never support their love. Romeo and Juliet try to fight the odds to keep their love alive but can they over come the hard ships?


The theme that I noticed while watching this movie was the theme of fate. In the beginning of the movie Romeo believes that fate will guide him in the right direction but by the end of the movie Romeo believe that '' O, I am fortune's fool''. It made me think a lot about if we follow our destiny. 


Fate is an event (or a course of events) that will inevitably happen in the future. could Romeo and Juliet have fought their fate or was their death the only way to end the hatred. This made me think a lot about if we are we put on this earth to better? 


Romeo believes that Fate will guide him at the Capulet party but why would Fate make you fall in love with the one person your parents don't want you to be with? Does true love trump faith or does Fate sometimes fight you?
